Shivon Smilovitis joins DS Family Law

We are pleased to announce that Shivon Smilovitis has joined the firm, as Managing Solicitor of the Mandurah Office.

Shivon started working in family law in Mandurah in 2001, and having lived in the area since 1998 she has developed a strong understanding of the local community and its needs.

Shivon spent many years operating her law firm Equity Legal, before ceasing practise in December 2015.

Since that time Shivon has been fortunate enough to enjoy time at home with her family, and spend many hours at a local yoga studio! “But it’s time to get back in the family law saddle,” she says.

Shivon is a highly skilled practitioner, having worked exclusively in family law for many years. She is experienced in resolving financial and parenting disputes both through negotiation and – where that fails – litigation.

Shivon has developed a niche practice dealing with complex business issues involving companies and trusts; financial settlements for elderly clients and same-sex couples; and living arrangements, recovery orders and relocation applications in child-related matters. She also prepares and advises upon Financial (or “Pre-Nuptial”) Agreements.

Shivon prides herself on her professionalism, efficiency, and her honest, down-to-earth approach, but will never shy away from taking robust action if required. She always keeps her clients informed every step of the way…. “Having the ability to listen to your clients and communicate in a respectful and effective manner is essential for a successful working relationship,” says Shivon.

Shivon is both excited and motivated to be joining the DS Family Law team. She has enjoyed an excellent working relationship with the Directors, Milos and Ross, over many years and is again looking forward to providing top quality family law advice to the Peel community.
